I’ve been busy working a a capsule series of figurative pieces based off of one of my abstract watercolor paintings, which I left outside in the rain to achieve the spontaneous texture. I then scanned it the painting, and used one of my vector drawings to create the final work digitally. This weds both traditional and digital media for a clean image, with references to the female form and my textile design background.
It is now for sale here as an archival gilcee print, and apparel.
To Capture the fleeting moments of beauty in time can only be achieved by impressions, lines, approximations. One wonders about the nature of beauty—It’s timeless appeal, it’s power…It’s subjectivity. The changeless female form is an archetype in it’s own right—a link to history and mystery.
This watercolor is an attempt to try to emulate simplicity while honoring the female form. Inspired initially by a photograph I took, I saw the potential for a line drawing. Trying to achieve a consistent style is vital.
